Dots: Perimeter — Terms of Service ^ Funattic Studio

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Dots: Perimeter (the “App”), provided by Funattic Studio (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.

1. The App

Dots: Perimeter is a mobile adaptation of the classic paper-and-pencil dots game. You can play against the AI offline, against another human on the same device (hot-seat), or against a friend online via shareable codes.

We may update, change, or remove features at any time. We aim to keep the core game free and online play available, but we don’t guarantee uninterrupted service.

2. Your account

When you first open the App, an anonymous account is created automatically. You don’t need to register, and we don’t ask for your email or phone number. You may pick a display name; this name is shown to your opponents in online matches.

You’re responsible for keeping your device secure. If someone else uses your device, they have access to your in-app data.

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account, which is permanent for the data we hold about you (see the Privacy Policy for details).

3. Acceptable use

When using the App, you agree to:

Not use a display name that is offensive, harassing, or impersonates another person or organization. We reserve the right to require a name change in matches we receive reports about.
Not interfere with the App’s operation, attempt to reverse-engineer it, or exploit bugs to manipulate match results, scores, or in-app purchases.
Not use the App to harass, threaten, or harm other players. Online play is intended to be civil.

We may suspend or terminate access for any account that violates these rules.

4. In-app purchases

The App offers optional cosmetic theme purchases (the “Paid Themes”) that change the visual appearance of the board, paper, grid, and dots. Paid Themes do not affect gameplay; the underlying rules and game mechanics are identical regardless of theme.

4.1 How purchases work

Paid Themes are sold through Apple’s App Store (on iOS) or Google Play (on Android). When you buy a theme:

You’re billed by Apple or Google according to their terms — not by us.
The unlock is tied to the App Store / Google Play account that made the purchase, not to your in-app anonymous account.
You can use Settings → Restore purchases at any time to re-fetch your Paid Themes (e.g. after reinstalling or switching devices).

4.2 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google, not by us. To request a refund:

iOS: visit reportaproblem.apple.com
Android: visit your Google Play purchase history

We don’t have direct access to the payment system and cannot issue refunds ourselves. If you have a complaint about an in-app purchase that the platform’s refund process can’t resolve, contact us and we’ll do what we can.

4.3 No real-money winnings

The App is a strategy game. Winning a match does not earn real-world money, prizes, or any in-app currency. There is no gambling component.

5. Intellectual property

The App, its visual design, the themes (free and paid), the AI engine, the tutorial content, and all related materials are owned by Funattic Studio and protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws.

The underlying game (“Dots”, also known as “Kropki” or “Точки”) is a public domain pencil-and-paper game; we don’t claim ownership of the rules or the concept of surrounding-by-chain captures.

You may not redistribute, sell, or republish the App or its content without our prior written permission.

6. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

Online play depends on a working internet connection on both devices and on third-party services (Firebase, Apple Push Notification, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging). We’re not responsible for delays or failures caused by those services.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Funattic Studio is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including loss of data, lost matches, or interrupted service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us through in-app purchases in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £5 (five pounds), whichever is lower.

This section doesn’t limit liability that can’t be excluded by law in your jurisdiction (for example, liability for gross negligence or intentional misconduct).

8. Termination

You can stop using the App at any time by deleting your account or uninstalling. We can terminate or suspend access to any account that violates these Terms or applicable law. Termination doesn’t entitle either party to a refund, except as required by Apple or Google’s policies.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. When we do, we’ll update the “Effective date” at the top. Material changes will be brought to your attention through the App or our website. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which Funattic Studio is registered, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where a mandatory consumer-protection law in your country grants you the right to proceed in your local courts.
